How to fold the shirt after ironing or neatly put the product in a suitcase?
Men's clothing sellers and dry cleaners were not born with knowledge on how to fold a shirt so that it does not wrinkle, but gained skills through systematic practice. Therefore, every housewife is able to achieve the same and not to suffer with repeated ironing of products. It is not so difficult to carry out the necessary actions correctly, you just need to familiarize yourself with the appropriate version of the approach and put it into practice. If you rationally approach the process of washing, ironing and assembling things, you can significantly ease your life and please your spouse with well-groomed products. The acquired skill will also allow you to empty the closet, because folded shirts take up much less space than hung on the shoulders.
How to make folding long-sleeved shirts easier?
The process of folding shirts is directly related to the correct approach to ironing and pre-processing. There are nuances that will allow you to approach the manipulation correctly from the very beginning, thereby facilitating home chores.
- After ironing, the products must cool. If you fold them immediately, the formation of bruises is guaranteed. Things must be carefully hung on the shoulders, buttoning the top button. After half an hour, you can start assembling.
Tip
In cases where you need to process several shirts at once, you should not run from one business to another. It’s better to first iron and start assembling, then the first shirts will already cool down and there will be a noticeable saving of time and effort.
- In the folding process, you must constantly adhere to the parallelism of the lines. Some housewives do not pay attention to a slight narrowing to the bottom and as a result get skewed products.
- It is most reliable to fold the shirt the way it is done in the store. Just cut out a rectangle of a suitable size from thick cardboard and put it on the back of the thing before assembling. So the product will retain the correct shape even for those who have a bad eye.
- Expensive items from capricious fabrics before cleaning for storage or placing in a suitcase need not only to be folded correctly, but also wrapped with soft paper (preferably parchment) to protect capricious matter from stains and crushing with other things.
- For people who have to travel often, a special bag was invented for transporting shirts. A very convenient device for those who appreciate the efforts of their and others.
It is worth considering that it is possible to qualitatively fold products with long (and with short) sleeves only if they know how to correctly assess the distance between individual sections. If this is a problem, then you should pre-stock up with a centimeter tape or ruler, at least for the first attempts. Over time, the skill will consolidate, and everything will start to work out correctly even without auxiliary tools.
Shirt folding algorithm
There are many methods with which you can fold shirts. To master the basic knowledge, you can resort to one of the following simple schemes.
Option 1
- We turn the product on the front side, fasten all the buttons, lay it on a hard, level surface with the back up. We smooth out all creases and irregularities, proceed to assembly.
- Work starts from the left edge. Fingers grab the middle of the shoulder, mentally draw a line down, below we take up the fabric at the same point. Having thus separated a third of the shirt, we wrap it in the back. We straighten the fabric so as not to wrinkle.
- We bend the diagonal sleeve and lay parallel to the side.We carry out the same manipulation with the second side of the product.
- Having received an even rectangle, measure the width of the palm from its lower edge and bend it to the back. Next, carefully fold the product in half so that the lower part is at the level of the collar.
- It remains only to turn the shirt over and put it on a shelf.
Option 2
- We also fasten the product on all buttons, put it on the front part, align it and begin to fold.
- We take one side part, bend it to the center of the product, level it. We fold the sleeve three times, while the cuff should be maximally opened and smoothed, then there will not be any wrinkles on it.
- We also fold the other side to the center, covering the previous part literally a couple of centimeters to smooth the surface. At this point, it’s important to smooth things out.
- We lay out the sleeve in length and wrap it up to the collar, while the cuff should be fastened. Its edge must be brought clearly to the edge of the collar.
- We bend the lower part of the product to the width of the palm and fold in half, covering the sleeve. If everything was done correctly, then the edge of the sleeve will fall just at the level of the fold.
In practice, all this looks even simpler than in theory. Just a few lessons - and you can not worry about the safety of shirts and their quality after transportation. Only you need to remember that these skills are recommended to be used only when working with ironed things. If you fold the wrinkled shirt in this way, then the folds and furrows will only fix, and the appearance of the product will save only a long aggressive steaming. In some cases, this does not help either, the item has to be re-washed, dried and then everything should be done according to the rules.
