Proven methods for purifying vodka and alcohol at home

Few people celebrate today without strong alcohol, but buying in a store of really high quality is difficult. And more and more often the question arises - how to clean alcohol and its derivatives at home, so that then you do not suffer from a severe hangover or even worse - from poisoning. It is clear that it is better to reduce the amount of alcohol consumed, but this should also be of high quality. Therefore, stock up on substances that will help rid alcohol of harmful impurities, and you can begin the process.

Help from the pharmacy

There, where we usually go for cold medicines or painkillers, there are several filters that can help you make alcohol better at home. These are well-known and very inexpensive potassium permanganate and activated carbon. When once again go to the pharmacy for the usual set of medicines, do not forget to buy any of these two ingredients. Just in case.

1. The best filter is, of course, activated carbon. Perhaps everyone knows about its absorbent properties. Often we use this substance for various poisonings or just to gently cleanse the intestines. Why not use its cleansing ability, so that later you will not be ashamed in front of the guests for the quality of alcohol? All you need is a big piece of gauze and lots of pills of coal. Grind the absorbent to a powder state and wrap in several layers of gauze. The thicker the homemade filter will be, the better the drink you get at the exit. Now simply pour vodka or alcohol through a layer of gauze into a clean container. Nothing complicated and expensive.
2. To clean vodka at home, instead of activated carbon, you can try wood. The effect will be slightly weaker, but such a method will come down if necessary. Only this method is time consuming. Here you already need to pour the purifier into vodka, 50 g of coal per liter of liquid, and leave the drink for three weeks. Periodically, the container should be shaken a little. After the designated time has passed, the liquid must be well filtered - and you can drink it.
3. If there is no coal at home, but urgently need to clean the detergent at home, then you can try potassium permanganate. Everything is simple here - in a container with vodka, alcohol or any drink that requires cleaning, pour pink powder - one gram of absorbent per liter of drink. Now briefly leave the container alone. After a while, you will be able to see that sediment has fallen to the bottom - these are the very harmful impurities that you had to get rid of the alcoholic beverage from. Now carefully pour the liquid into another container, trying not to shake what is at the bottom. You can safely drink a drink - it will not harm you. Of course, subject to the measure.

These are some fairly simple ways with which you can clean alcohol-containing drinks from fusel oils and harmful impurities at home. To do this, you need to purchase several additional ingredients. But it is quite possible to do without them.

House cleaning

In any apartment there is a mandatory set of products, some of which can be used to purify vodka at home. And even to do without such assistants. But first things first.

1. A method that does not require any costs at all is freezing. Just put the bottle of drink in the freezer or on the balcony if it is very cold outside. After some time, take out the container and drain the liquid that has not frozen. Just it is completely clean, and all the harmful impurities turned into ice.In this way, quickly and without unnecessary labor, you can clean any alcoholic drink at home. Just make sure that the bottle is strong enough, otherwise it may simply burst from the liquid that has expanded in the cold.
2. You can also try using milk. This is a rather ancient and proven method of cleaning for more than one generation. You will need the most low-fat milk that you can find in the store. Pour it into vodka, in alcohol or in another drink that requires purification - 50 g per three liters of alcohol. The mixture must be mixed well and then tightly close the container. After some time, sediment will fall to the bottom. Container with a mixture of milk and milk should be kept for about a week in a dark place, occasionally shaking. After the allotted time has passed, strain the drink through several layers of gauze. Yes, the process is not fast, but on the way out you get crystal clear vodka with an amazingly mild taste.
3. An interesting way to clean at home is eggs. More precisely, you will need fresh proteins - 4 pcs. per liter of drink. Separate them from the yolks, whisk a little and pour into the liquid. Stir the mixture well and leave to infuse for 10 hours. Periodically, an alcohol-containing drink should be shaken. Then simply strain well and you can begin the tasting.
4. There is another way to cleanse the fermented rye bread. But it is better to use it as an addition to any other method, since this option itself does not guarantee perfect cleaning. This is rather the final touch, making it easy to remove impurities and add an interesting flavor to vodka. After you have used, for example, milk, poured vodka, put a few slices of bread in it and leave it for a couple of hours. Then simply remove the pastries and strain the drink again to remove the crumbs.
5. You can also try vegetable oil. To do this, pour vodka into a spacious container and add oil - 20 ml per liter of it to it. Close the container and start shaking well. This will take at least five minutes. Now put and wait until an oil stain forms on the surface - all impurities are in it. Now you need to insert the tube into the vodka and just gently pour the drink into a clean bottle. Just do not get carried away, leave a little sediment at the bottom. It contains all that is harmful that you tried to get rid of, you do not need them at all.

Now you have several affordable, inexpensive and very simple methods that allow you to both clean the vodka at home and give it a new flavor. If you take care of this in advance, then by the time you plan a holiday or some kind of gatherings, your table will only have good drinks that will not harm your health.

What else can be done?

In addition to saving vodka, alcohol or moonshine from any impurities at home, you can slightly improve the taste and aroma of drinks. Your guests will definitely like what you offer them.

For example, after cleaning, you can crumble 50–70 grams of violet root into a liquid and add a little raisins. It is enough to leave the container in this form for the night, and in the morning you will have a drink with a delicate pleasant aroma and interesting flavor. You can also add honey, various aromatic herbs, orange and lemon peels, cinnamon sticks and the like to alcohol. This will not require large expenses and labor from you, and you can easily surprise your friends with a refined drink. And only you will know what it was made of.
