Ancient amulet: how to hang a horseshoe over a door
Content:
If you ask someone about where and how to hang a horseshoe “for good luck”, the answer will be unequivocal - over the entrance to the dwelling, ends up. But this is nothing more than a myth, because in reality this amulet has a completely different purpose and should be located according to different rules, which our ancestors knew well and which we already forgot.
What should be a horseshoe?
A hundred years ago, no one had a question about what a horseshoe should be. Of course, iron - there was nowhere else to get another. But in our time, everything has changed - souvenir shops offer a huge assortment of horseshoes for every taste. Among them are wooden, with scorched patterns and wishes of good luck; plastic ones are sometimes cheap, with poorly finished edges, and sometimes even more expensive, which, due to their quality color, are almost indistinguishable from the real ones at first glance. Modern horseshoes are decorated with flowers, spikelets, ribbons and other attributes that ancestors could not even think of.
However, you should not buy such horseshoes, wanting to acquire a magical attribute and a talisman. Their purpose is to be part of the interior, create a certain atmosphere, please the eye, or simply cover a hole in the wallpaper.
In order for the horseshoe to benefit the house from an energy point of view, it must be real. Best of all, if someone from the household accidentally found her on the road. However, now such gifts of fate are rare, so it’s easier to get a horseshoe by asking her from a person who is involved in horse breeding, or in an equestrian club. You can also use a magnet on a rope to catch a once-thrown horseshoe from a river or lake, but this method requires time and diligence, while not guaranteeing success.
A "worn" horseshoe rarely maintains a decent appearance - as a rule, there are many small dents on it. This should not be a reason to abandon it, because in this case, beauty is not the main thing.
Traditions of ancestors and modern myths
You can often hear that the horseshoe found promises good luck. Previously, in the days of the pharaohs, it was so - horses harnessed to the lord’s chariot were forged with gold, and a person who found a horseshoe made of precious metal on the road became rich. So it was not even a belief, but a harsh reality.
But in Russia, that the horses of ordinary peasants, that the princely horses - all wore iron horseshoes on their hooves. Even if you find one, you will not sell it to anyone. Therefore, they were used to protect the home. It was believed that once a demon, taking on the likeness of a beautiful horse, came to the blacksmith to shoe him, but the man guessed who was in front of him, and so burned the unclean with a red-hot iron that he was ready to promise anything to free himself. Then the blacksmith took the word from him to never enter the house if a horseshoe hangs above the front door.
Horseshoe for good luck
Already in the 20th century, the statement that a horseshoe is a symbol of wealth became popular. People thought that it was necessary to nail it near the entrance to the dwelling, and always upside down - so it looked like a pot in which porridge was cooked (it, in turn, was associated with prosperity). To other people, the horseshoe, located in this way, resembled a bowl of wine (here we should recall the expression "home is a full bowl").
However, this is just a fallacy and a misinterpretation of the images. Being empty inside, the horseshoe cannot be a symbol of wealth or attract money to the house. Moreover, it works to the detriment of the owners, since any positive energy coming from outside enters one end, passes in a circle and rushes through the other end to the same place from which it came - to the street. At the same time, nothing prevents negative energy from entering the house and causing illness, accidents, and quarrels.
If the horseshoe hangs upside down in the apartment or in the house and the homeowners do not want to get rid of it, you need to take coins from the yellow metal and stick them on the wall inside the horseshoe so that it turns out not a "empty" pot, but a full one. The benefits of such a talisman will not increase, but there will also be no harm.
How to hang a horseshoe?
To hang this amulet correctly, you need to remember the following rules:
- According to the beliefs of our ancestors and the rules of energy exchange, the place where the horseshoe should hang is located above the main entrance to the house. It is advisable to place it not inside the building, but outside - so the amulet does its job more efficiently.
- If there is a suspicion that it may be stolen, or if it is an apartment building and it is forbidden to hang anything above the door by the rules of residence, you can nail a horseshoe from the inside of the apartment.
- The main rule - a horseshoe is hung only with the ends down and nothing else. In this position, she will do what she is intended to do from a magical point of view - to pass negative energy through herself and return it to the one who brought it into the house.
If the amulet is in the right place and correctly located, the ill-wishers who come to visit will feel bad after each visit, and eventually cease to appear at the doorstep. Any witchcraft directed towards the owners of the house will also not achieve the goal.
In order not to accidentally harm your family, you need to know well where and how the horseshoe is hung. And if you do everything according to the rules, then the result will not be long in coming - the atmosphere in the house will improve, the troubles will go away, and all this thanks to a small piece of iron forged in the shape of a crescent. The amulets of our ancestors work for the benefit of present generations.
